Lawn Mowing Tips
Mowers should now be set at their tallest mowing height or 3”. Since the plant makes its food in the top part of the plant, better color and less stress will result from the taller mowing heights. Mowing tall will also help shade the soil, resulting in fewer weed and disease problems. Remember…. most all lawn disease spores enter the plants through wounds caused by mowing, so the sharper the mower blades, the fewer the wounds on the grass tips. Bagging of the grass clippings isn’t really needed or recommended, if the lawn is mowed on a regular schedule.
