FORMULAS BROADCASTED
ON DENNY McKEOWN'S GARDEN RADIO SHOW:

RABBIT DETERRENT FORMULA

To one gal. of water add 12 oz. forevergreen (purchased at most garden centers) and 1 tablespoon hot sauce (Tabasco). Spray all your plants. Be sure to wash off vegetables before you eat!

CHIPMUNK FORMULA

Add 1 tablespoon of Orthene to 1 gal. water. Mix and pour the mixture down the chipmunk's hole.

CASTOR OIL VS. THE MOLES.

The following formula has been used successfully by hundreds of homeowners in the Midwest. This potion will not kill the mole, but they do not like to tunnel in soil treated with the formula.

First, a little info on the mole. The vertical hole they dig is the nest and horizontal tunnels or runs are their feeding routes. They like all types of worms

and grubs.Mom and moles will bring about 15 to 20 offspring a year. That is why they become increasingly troublesome each year.

Now, the formula. In your blender, whip 3 oz. of castor oil and 3 tablespoons liquid detergent. Blend till frothy. Add 8 tablespoons of water and blend again till frothy. Using a 15 gal. Ortho hose and sprayer, put 15 tablespoons

of castor oil mix in jar. Fill remainder of jar with water. Attach sprayer to your hose and spray castor oil solution to the entire lawn and garden area. Apply while walking at a slow pace. After you've finished spraying, set up your lawn sprinkler

and water the solution into the soil (about 20 min. to an area). Repeat when you observe new mole activity. One to two applications per year are average. Spring is the best time to apply as the ground is usually soft. Then, you better warn your neighbors they will be the benefactors of your moles.

GOOD LUCK and Happy Gardening!
